Paris – one of the world’s most visited cities – has many things to offer: a rich history, well-established universities, an international atmosphere… Even if you don’t speak French, you often find someone who speaks English to guide you around.
Choosing Paris to study photography is an excellent decision towards a great career. France is the birthplace of photography and Paris – “la Ville Lumière” – is the worldwide reference in the domains of fashion, commercial photography, photojournalism and fine arts.
The city is rich in museums and galleries dedicated to photography. Being the economic center of France, it is also the main scene for all major photographic players: news agencies, the big names in advertising, beauty and luxury, as well as large international companies… they all have headquarters in Paris Students at Speos have diverse cultural and educational backgrounds (up to 50 nationalities at times); they are open-minded, dynamic and eager to learn, and this clearly shows in their pictures.
During their year at Speos, they can use the city as their subject matter and cover a variety of events: fashion shows, major sports events (the Paris marathon, the “Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe” horse race…), cultural events (Paris Photo, the “Mois de la photo”, LensCulture Fotofest)…
Last but not least, students at Speos Paris have the possibility to follow parts of their classes at the Speos London campus at Highgate Studios, located in Camden, in the very center of London.
– Transportation: the cheapest way is to buy the Navigo travelcard for about 65,00€ per month, which allows you to travel in Paris by bus and subway.
