Malmö University was founded in 1998 and is a young, modern and international university. It has about 25 000 students and offers undergraduate and postgraduate education.

Malmö University’s mission is to be an active hub for research, education and innovation that benefit a global society. The activities of Malmö University are centred on the major challenges in our society today and we strive to become a university open to the world around us. Hence, our research is often multidisciplinary and is frequently pursued in collaboration with partners from outside the university.
Campus – in the heart of Malmö
It is located in the city of Malmö, the third largest city in Sweden, and ranked the fourth most innovative city in the world by Forbes. Naturally, our educational programmes and research influence and are influenced by Malmö’s entrepreneurial environment. Located in the centre of the city, the university has played an important role in the transformation of Malmö from an industrial town to a centre of learning. About a third of our first year students have an international background and our goal is to create a truly international study environment.
